Enough Already!

Every day women face relentless demands in work and life. These demands are coupled with the pressure to look amazing while being amazing at everything. It’s no wonder most women I talk to find themselves prioritizing taking care of everyone else and not themselves.

Then, one day you look around and realize your body hurts, you feel weak, it’s harder to get up from the floor after playing with your kids, you aren’t sleeping well, your pants won’t zip, (insert any number of harsh realities here lovely).

What you COULD do….

You could do what the diet industry tells you, “eat fewer calories and exercise more." If that worked, it would've worked by now. It’s just not that simple.

Or, you could seriously restrict your diet, like that wholeketopaeloglutenfreehottestthingaround your friend from high school was posting about on INSTA…. Except 98% of all dieters gain back the weight - so maybe not.

You could wait and join a challenge at New Year's when everyone is making those resolutions and doing 75 hards and dry Januarys. Statistically, you only need to do that ten separate times before you will finally give up (that’s scientifically proven) - ouch).

Often women don't know what to do to change their bodies, we're stuck in a rut with no idea how to get out because 95% of what we do every day is a habit. We are so close to it, we don’t even know what we are doing, really, to create the situation we are in and we definitely don’t know how to change it. Otherwise we would have already, right?

It is a struggle to make changes that last. Even when the need is obvious and our intentions are strong.

Health and Wellness Coaching 101

Health coaches are experts in behavior change and habit formation. They support their clients in finding their own strategies and motivation for change, overcoming obstacles, and implementing protocols that have either been prescribed by a clinician/nutritionist/dietitian or that the client has chosen to implement on their own. Health coaches don’t operate on the “expert model” that’s so common in healthcare. They don’t lecture, prescribe, or simply dispense advice. Instead, they empower others to make the choice for health, including healthier behaviors, for themselves.
